Oak barrel aged Apple brandy
Back to the product listingApple brandy, which was aged in oak barrels for 18 months. If we could, we’d call it calvados. But we can’t.
In 2018, we launched our first apple brandy, a distillate made from crushed apples. But we mashed (pressed out the juice) half of the apples, fermented that, distilled it, and stored it in oak barrels for nearly two years. The result was a classic calvados. But we can’t call it that. Only apple brandies from the French part of Normandy can bear the name Calvados. So does Champagne.
So you have the opportunity to taste apple spirit made in two ways. Clear from whole apples and aged from apple juice.
The aged one has been aged for 18 months in white oak barrels. From these it has acquired its colour, smoothness, sweetness and a slight vanilla note.
